This concert was part of the Summer in the City Festival. As a part of the celebration, Pittsburgh Symphony musicians, conductor Michael Lankester, mayor of Pittsburgh Sophie Masloff, Pittsburgh Symphony Society president David W. Christopher, and vice president Gideon Toeplitz all signed an oversized birthday card for Leonard Bernstein's birthday (August 25, 1988).en_US
